In order to adapt to the current climate, The New Inn near Grimsby has transformed the way they operate and enhanced their customer experience thanks to Card Saver’s innovative payment technology.
At the heart of the Great Limber community, The New Inn, which is part of the Coastal and Country Inns chain, has welcomed locals and guests from further afield, for almost 240 years. It’s ten individually designed luxurious bedrooms, restaurant and private dining room provide the perfect setting to enjoy great British menus with a few subtle twists.
Chris Hannon, Managing Director of Coastal and Country Inns, was looking for a new payment system which would allow him to easily manage his sites which are situated around the country. He also wanted to improve the customer experience, as following lockdown, it’s vital that customers feel at ease in a safe environment.
Card Saver pride themselves on delivering advanced products and payment technologies, and they provided Chris with the ultimate payment solution.
They have installed innovative point of sale technology, and the terminals display customer facing videos on which The New Inn can provide engaging news, events, and safety information for those who opt to pay at the bar.
Card Saver has provided hand held tablets designed to be carried by waiting staff at all times, so bills can be produced immediately, printed, and fully itemised for the customer to view at the table, as well as having the ability to process the card payment there and then.
The New Inn will also benefit from an advanced cloud-based back office software, Web Back Office (W-BO), which enables real-time sales reporting and stock control. W-BO allows for fast and efficient price and product changes and the ability to view in-depth metrics and analytics, with a full suite of reporting, in addition to the stock control function, giving management a full, clear and accurate picture of exactly what’s going on at all times. This is great news for Chris, as it allows him to have a clear overview of everything that’s happening.
“I look after a number of sites across the country so it’s vital that I can see everything and have remote access and back of office control so I can see everything quickly,” said Chris. “The new system is so easy to use which is essential when we’re busy.
“The whole experience with Card Saver has been great. They are amenable to adapt to the bespoke nature of what we do as a business, and we often need updates to happen quickly. We’re a small, independently run chain with no IT department, so we rely heavily on our relationship with Chris from Card Saver who installed the system, and who makes our requested changes happen.”
